This invitation came about when I was commissioned by my coworker for a bridal shower invitation. My coworkers daughter was a big Harry Potter fan and was also celebrating her bridal shower and my coworker sought a way to combine the two. The goal was to keep the invitation Harry Potter theme but still give a sense that displayed the importance of the event.
For this design I chose to base the invitation of a Hogwarts express ticket. This played into the importance of receiving the invitation. Where as receiving a Hogwarts ticket is such a rare thing it played off of the exclusivity. Also keeping with theme I gave it the appearance of appearing on parchment paper and using scripted and more good natured roman fonts to recreate the Harry Potter theme.
